This is my all time favourite meal except we used to make it with heavy whipping cream from a recipe my Mum had from when I was a teenager so over the years I've changed it all around and recently I attempted to make it dairy free and it turned out even better.
1lb of ground beef
1/2 an onion diced
1/2 tsp of ground pepper
1 cup of almond milk
pinch of salt
1 egg
In a bowl mix up the ground beef with the onion, egg and salt. Form the meat into burgers and place in a frying pan. Cook until browned and cooked through. There will be crispy stuff on the bottom of the pan and you want this. Set the burgers on a plate to the side. Pour the almond milk into the pan and stir scraping up all the bottom bits. Add the pepper and stir. Place the burgers back into the pan and flip them upside down so that the milk is surrounding them. Let them simmer for about ten minutes so the flavours mix well. I add a little pinch more of pepper if needed. Serve with your favourite side and enjoy.
