This pizza crust I have made twice now and the first time it was good but to much like pie so I tried again last night and I think it turned out perfect. Put my pizza sauce with this crust and it tastes so good. I want to let you know if it looks like there isn't enough dough to fill the pizza tray don't worry because there is. This is more like a thin crust pizza. I updated this recipe to 2 cups of almond flour as I am experimenting with the new crusts all the time.
2 tbsp of palm shortening, melted
1/3 cup of coconut flour
1 egg
1 tsp of Italian herbs
2 cups of almond flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp of apple cider vinegar
Preheat oven to 350'.
Place all ingredients into mixer and combine well. If you have a dough attachment to put on your mixer use that. Spoon all the dough out of the mixer and make into a ball. Place the ball onto a piece of parchment paper and another piece on top. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into a circle to fit your pizza tray. Flip the dough circle on to the tray. I used one with a crisper on top. Place crust into the oven and cook for about 15 min. Keep an eye on it so that its not burning on the edges. Take out of oven when time is up and pour pizza sauce ( check out my pizza sauce) onto the crust. I cook my onions and toppings before I add them to the pizza, so it turns out well that way. If you cant tolerate cheese then just the sauce and toppings taste really good too. Put back into oven for 10 min. Enjoy!
